Favourite pastimes along the canal

Our plan was to cycle to Linköping, but when we discovered that the cycle route was along a busy road we changed the plan and rode along the canal.

There you see the favourite pastimes: watching the boats going up or down the locks and playing putt putt (mini golf for some). Is that Sweden's national summer sport? Every village along the canal has a 'bangolf' course.

Here one of the passenger boats, the Wilhem Tam (we know them all by now!) comes down the Oscar lock behind the bangolf course:





Just add the ice cream ('glass') stall (its to the left, just outside the picture) and you have a quintessential Göta Canal scene!

Tomorrow is predicted to be cloudy, rainy and windy with good weather thereafter. So we'll probably stay here, do some work and some washing. In that case possibly no blogpost tomorrow!
